Our Minecraft Bedrock Server Story
How we advanced from a tiny MCPE server to one of the Best Skyblock Servers in 2021
Our journey started in early 2019 when our core team started creating maps and worlds. Slowly but surely the enthusiastic team figured out how to create their first bedrock server called Adams.
Adams server had nothing more than any other new MCPE server, but had something truly unique. It was a safe, friendly and community-based Minecraft Bedrock server created with the sole purpose of bringing people to play together.
With this perspective, the need to grow the lobby and add more features i.e. custom islands, grew tremendously. It was time to announce to the community that Adams is going to be spruced up and will add new upgrades.
They voted for the name Vertex Skyblock and the time was right to build something new and big.
With hard work and dedication, Vertex Skyblock ranked from #3000 to #124 in less than 10 days of release.
It was time to hire a marketing manager and some dedicated moderators to the team. and this is how the magic happened!
A Discord community was built to listen to players feedback and create new game modes that truly matched their needs and aspirations, twitter and other social media was used to announce fun weekly events, Flash Sales, and keep in touch with the largest Minecraft bedrock community. A mentor-who owned a successful server-was regularly asked about next steps and best practices, and influencers from all walks of life spread the word and helped other Minecraft players know about Vertex Skyblock server.
Though our marketing efforts were important, we believed firmly that “our players are our best ambassadors”, thus strived day by day to give them the best playing experience possible. A Nitro Booster rank in-game and other perks were introduced so players can enjoy the game while growing our community in-game and out-game.
On an organizational level, the team started loving the weekly GASMs -Goals & Accomplishments Sharing Meetings- and various random open brainstorming sessions. It is then when a new vibe emerged. Every little success was celebrated. And everyone in the team was treated equally with the utmost love and respect. Roles started to emerge from weekly tasks needed to keep the server up and running, and were streamlined with the bigger vision: bringing people to play together and have real fun.
This is how our server story started, a safe and fun haven for everyone to enjoy and build unique islands and become part of a happy and vibrant tribe of enthusiastic, creative and engaged players.
